Service Manager
Amherst Chrysler is looking for a dynamic individual to run their Service Department. The ideal candidate will have strong decision making and multi-tasking abilities, effective administration and management capabilities, strong concentration when dealing with numbers and statistics and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure high quality service and repairs are provided to customers.
- Manage the Service Department to achieve sales, profits, and efficiency by maximizing production, controlling costs, marketing, building clientele and establishing solid employee relationships.
- Direct and schedule activities of all staff.
- Forecast goals and objectives for the department.
- Prepare and manage annual operating budget.
- Monitor the flow of work in the Service Department.
- Keep abreast of new equipment and tools and recommend purchases.
- Maintain service records and reporting procedures required by FCA Canada.
- Observe work order trends (hours per RO, dollar sales per Service Advisor).
- Establish processes and standards to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operations.
- Review completed jobs for quality control purposes.
- Handle all escalated customer complaints.
- Hire, educate, motivate, guide and evaluate staff to review activities and concerns.
- Conduct daily/weekly meetings with department staff to review activities and/or concerns.
- Provide technical knowledge to employees and customers when required.
- Attend all in-house group meetings when required.
- Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to.
- And perform any other duties as required.
This is a full time salaried position with performance incentives. Performance based on year over year results, gross profit achievement, RO's generated and in providing a high level of customer satisfaction as measured by FCA Canada.
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or Collage/University degree. Must have 5 years combined experience in an automotive dealership (e.g. Sales, Service Advisor, Technician, and/or Shop Foreman) or a minimum 5 years combined management experience elsewhereor an accounting designation. A general understanding of vehicle mechanics is a definite asset as well as knowledge of marketing and finance.
